Today marks the second yahrtzeit of Nachum’s brother, Moshe Yonah ben Rav Zev Halevi a”h, who passed away from Esophageal cancer two years ago. In an effort to increase awareness of Esophageal cancer, its signs & symptoms, and the importance of getting screened for the disease, Nachum hosted Dr. Joe Frager for a comprehensive conversation on this morning’s JM in the AM. In short, “Esophageal cancer is a cancerous (malignant) tumor of the esophagus, the muscular tube that moves food from the mouth to the stomach.” Nachum and Dr. Frager couldn’t stress enough the benefits of catching this cancer early-on by getting screened and being aware of the signs and symptoms. Early detection is key!
