Nachum Segal hosted Royal Wines’ Gabe Geller and Claude Gisselbrecht, Winemaker at Koenig Winery in Alsace, France, live at JM in the AM for a comprehensive discussion about Koenig’s great wines.
From the Koenig website: “It all started with Emile Koenig, winegrower in Alsace who talks with a producer of Kosher Foie-Gras in Alsace. This one asks his friend: Can’t we drink anything else than Water with this wonderful pâté ? A white Alsace Wine would be better to drink with instead of Champagne, only Kosher Wine produced than in France. Koenig gets convinced and in 1960 he goes for the adventure with his son and begins to produce his first Kosher Wines.
Year after year he increases his production to meet the demand for his Alsace Kosher Wines.
Today Koenig Wines are the most Well-known Alsace Kosher Wines and sold in many Kosher Shops and in the best Restaurants throughout France and Europe.”
