The JM in the AM 2014 Fundraising Marathon has begun! Marathon proceedings run from 6am ET on Monday, February 24 until just after 9am ET on Friday March 7. It is an exciting and entertaining 2 weeks of programming that supports the backbone of great Jewish Radio and makes all of our great programming possible. Marathon 2014 Day 5, 02/28/2014
Week 1 of Marathon 2014 has ended with great excitement as we reached over $85,000, and great anticipation for what week 2 will bring! As we head into Marathon weekend, and hope for more pledges to keep rolling in, please remember to spread the word to friends, family, fellow congregants and community members that JM in the AM needs the support of the entire, world-wide Jewish community. Guests to today’s program included Mayer Fertig, Eli Hagler, Assistant Director of Yachad/National Jewish Council for Disabilities and host of the OU’s Jewish Reaction here at NSN (Tuesdays, 9-10am ET), Rabbi Yossi Kanelsky, Rabbi Steven Weil, Executive Vice President of the Orthodox Union (OU), Dr. Joseph Rozehzadeh, Dr. Rabin Rozehzadeh, Larry Spivak, Mordy Mehlman, Editor-in-Chief of the Flatbush Jewish Journal and Rabbi Steven Finkelstein with an enthusiastic group of student representatives from Torah Academy of Bergen County (TABC) in Teanack, NJ. JM in the AM Friday standards took place as well as Nachum conducted an abbreviated edition of The Weekly Update with Malcolm Hoenlein and he presented Rabbi Benjamin Yudin to discuss the Torah Portion of the Week. The total at the end of Day 5 of the Marathon is $85,288.

Day 4 of the marathon was relatively great as Nachum’s relatives were on the premises, and coming out of the woodwork. The total at the end of Day 4 of the Marathon is $55,752.

Marathon 2014 Day 2, 02/25/2014
The marathon rolled on with a great second day that featured several guests, entertainment and camaraderie. Guests to today’s program included Naomi and Steven Nachman, Naomi is, of course the Host of Table for Two here at NSN (Fridays, 9-10am ET), Daniel Gordon, one of the Hosts of The Stunt Show here at NSN (Thursdays, 1-2pm ET) and long-time JM in the AM staff member Randi Wartelsky. Elliot Weiselberg was on hand to deliver a playoff edition of the Yeshiva League Sports Update live in the studio! Other visitors included David Perlman and Josh Schwartz of Rock N’ Roll Sushi & Noodle Bar, Willy Hochman and rising Jewish music star Simcha Leiner. The total at the end of Day 2 of the Marathon is $35,041.

Marathon 2014 Day 1, 02/24/2014
As always, Nachum was joined by an amazing crew of JM staff members this morning including the other members of the “Three Marathon Amigos:” Mark Zomick, Producer of Marathon proceedings and Mattes Weingast. The First Ladies of the JM in the AM Marathon, who tirelessly make it out every year to every morning of the marathon were at the phones from the opening ring providing a sense of calm to the proceedings; They include Judy Mitrani, Sheila Tannenbaum, and Gail Weintraub, the greatest mother-in-law in the world. Michael Fragin (Host of Spin Class on NSN: Thursdays 6-7pm ET) stopped by the marathon to discuss politics and to implore the listeners to pledge their support. Long-time volunteer Mr. Morris Ryback was in the house, once again showing his unending support for JM in the AM. Nachum welcomed WFMU Station Manager Ken Freedman to Day 1 to deliver the much anticipated, annual State of the Station Address. The total at the end of Day 1 of the Marathon is $26,165.
