As the Jewish community of Pittsburgh, PA prepares to commemorate the first yahrtzeit of the massacre at the Tree of Life Synagogue, Nachum Segal presented an inspiring and memorable edition of JM in the AM live from The JCC of Greater Pittsburgh. Continuing the mission of the Jewish Unity Initiative (JUI), to celebrate, support, invigorate and unite the Jewish people, Nachum spoke with several representatives of the community so we could all find out how they are recovering and moving forward after last year’s tragic event. The guest list included: Maggie Feinstein, Director of 10.27 Healing Partnership, Rabbi Ron Symons, Senior Director of Jewish Life at The JCC of Greater Pittsburgh, Professor Laurie Eisenberg, professor of history at Carnegie Mellon University, Dr. Nina Butler, Project Coordinator of 15217 Neighborhood-based Teen Mental Health Initiative, archivist Eric Lidji, New Light co-Presidents Stephen Cohen and Barbara Caplan, Stephanie Small, Director of Counseling and Senior Services at the JCC and Cathy Samuels, Chief Development and Communications Officer at the JCC.
