Rabbi Benjamin Yudin, spiritual leader of Congregation Shomrei Torah in Fairlawn, New Jersey, called in to JM in the AM to discuss the Torah portion of the week. This week Rabbi Yudin discussed parshas Shemos elaborating on the various names of this next “book” in the Torah as well as the importance of names in Judaism. Rabbi Yudin explained why the Torah uses “nicknames” for the midwives Yocheved and Miriam, and how that relates to us today.
