Rabbi Benjamin Yudin, spiritual leader of Congregation Shomrei Torah in Fairlawn, New Jersey, called in live from Israel to JM in the AM to discuss the Torah portion of the week. This week Rabbi Yudin discussed the Torah portion of Mattos-Masei. Rabbi Yudin also elaborated on the laws and customs of “The Nine Days,” the saddest days of the Jewish calendar, which begin today and continue through next Sunday’s observance of Tisha B’Av.
