Nachum welcomed Rabbi Jacob Bernstein, Director of Day School Programming in the NY Area for NCSY, to JM in the AM to discuss NCSY JUMP and the NCSY JUMP CREATE-A-THON going on now. From the NCSY press release:
Using a hack-a-thon model we will be empowering teens to create, imagine, and address some of the most pressing challenges facing the Jewish community. Teens will work on solutions, from ideation to implementation, and grants will be awarded for ongoing execution of the best ideas developed at the gathering. This year’s JUMP Create-a-Thon models today’s innovation ecosystem with a goal toward creating and maintaining a long term effective solution to issues like substance abuse, mental illness, education and chesed to name a few.
The program includes the following components:
- 15 Hour Create-a-thon
- Fundamental Sessions
- Teen Experience Fair
- Chopped Competition
