Nachum had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Jonathan Halevy, Director General of Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem to this morning’s JM in the AM, live via telephone, to discuss the recent Israeli involvement in the post-earthquake medical relief efforts in Nepal. Dr. Halevy was one of the physicians sent from Shaare Zedek Medical Center as part of the rescue delegation that treated 1,600 patients, performed 85 surgeries and delivered 8 babies. Nachum and Dr. Halevy discussed how top tier physicians and surgeons were chosen from several different hospitals throughout Israel to deal with the difficult conditions on the ground in Nepal. Shaare Zedek Medical Center is Jerusalem’s fastest growing major medical center. Located on two campuses, the hospital provides advanced, compassionate medical care to over 500,000 patients annually while involved in extensive scientific research efforts.
