Nachum welcomed Rabbi Yitzchok Waldman Executive Vice President of American Friends of Laniado Hospital to this morning’s JM in the AM, live via telephone from Israel, to get an update on Israel’s Laniado Hospital and to discuss the upcoming annual dinner benefiting their new Birthing Center. “American Friends of Laniado Hospital, Children of the Holocaust Memorial Hospital, invite everyone to join in a special “Evening of Commemoration,” marking the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Holocaust survivors – 1945-2015.” This year’s dinner will be taking place on Sunday, May 3rd at the Museum of Jewish Heritage (36 Battery Place, New York, NY). “The American Friends of Laniado Hospital was founded in 1972 in the United States by a group of Holocaust survivors, disciples of the Sanz-Klauzenburger Rebbe, zt”l, to help him fulfill the vow he made during the Holocaust when he was seriously wounded during a Death March between Warsaw and Dachau. At the time he made a vow to the Almighty that if he survived he would build a hospital in Israel where anyone requesting medical attention would never be turned away. The American Friends of Laniado Hospital have a defined mission – to enable the continuous building and expansion of this outstanding Medical Center that the Rebbe, zt”l built. The challenge is huge and it can only be accomplished with the aid of you, our dear friends and supporters.
