Nachum welcomed Etiel Forman, Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Duff & Phelps, to this morning’s JM in the AM to preview Sunday’s panel on “Addiction and Substance Abuse: Understanding the Landscape and Its Impact on Us” at Congregation Keter Torah in Teaneck, NJ. The discussion, starting at 7:30 p.m., will include information on recent drug trends, state and local initiatives, addiction, and what we can do to address and prevent it. Speakers will include Christopher Jakim, a Drug Enforcement Administration special agent who will provide information about the current drug crisis and state measures against trafficking. Shelley Stuart, the director of the Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources, will talk about programs and initiatives in Bergen County. Dr. Matis Shulman will answer questions about the medical and physiological aspects of addiction. Rabbi Larry Rothwachs of Congregation Beth Aaron will explore communal efforts and awareness. Rabbi Tully Harcsztark, the principal of SAR High School, will answer questions about policies and protocols in schools.
