Nachum welcomed Orit B. Seif, Director of Kedma, to this morning’s JM in the AM to discuss Kedma’s vital work for Israeli society, how the need for their services has drastically increased since October 7th and how we can get involved in their Chanukah campaign to to support the Kedma Meals for Army Families initiative.
Kedma, an Israel-based non-profit, empowers its global base of volunteers to give back within Israeli society and connect to Israel through its volunteer programs and partnerships with Jewish organizations internationally.
Since its founding in 1996, Kedma’s mission has been to strengthen gap year students’ Jewish identity and integrate them into Israeli society through the lens of volunteerism. In recent years, Kedma expanded its platform to all segments of society: Kedma’s initiatives engage students, professionals, and families through weekly volunteering, one time volunteering, and leadership training programs.
Since October 7th, Kedma has addressed the ever shifting needs of an Israel at war, and has expanded its programming to include work with missions and volunteer programming geared to students and families which support both the war effort and the home front with the goal of keeping Israel strong. Significantly, Kedma was one of the first organizations to support miluim families, through its Kedma Meals for Army Families initiative, which has helped army wives and kids continuously since the outset of the war.
Your support of Kedma’s Volunteer Program will empower volunteerism, strengthen Israeli society, and build up the next generation of leaders. Together, we can make an impact in Israel & beyond that lives on and on!
