Nachum welcomed Joe Klein, Executive Director of Israel Special Kids Fund/Simcha LaYeled, to this morning’s JM in the AM, live via telephone from Eilat, Israel to discuss the important work of the organization and their current trip to Eilat.
Simcha LaYeled was founded in 2004 by Ilan Grobman after he recognized that many children with chronic illnesses were not receiving crucial support from any existing organization. To fill this gap and address the urgent need, Simcha LaYeled was established with the mission of providing support and friendship for these children.
Simcha LaYeled’s mission is to empower children and youth with severe physical disabilities to lead lives of independence and equality within society. Their vision is to improve the quality of life for every child and adolescent in Israel who suffers from physical disabilities and illness.
The children of Simcha LaYeled struggle with physical disabilities, chronic diseases, genetic diseases, and rare genetic syndromes. Simcha LaYeled also services children undergoing intensive rehabilitation due to burns, car accidents and terror attacks. Simcha LaYeled services over 20,000 ill children across Israel each year.
