Nachum welcomed Noemi Laufer, President of the United Communities of Italy, to this morning’s JM in the AM to discuss the Causematch campaign to help the Jewish communities of Italy.
From the Causematch page:
Coronavirus Consequence: Emergency Campaign for Jewish Italy. Crisis has struck, but you can help.
The Jewish Community of Rome, the Jewish Community of Milan and the Union of Italian Jewish Communities invite you to participate in a vital fundraising.
The life emergency caused by the pandemic is getting worse day after day. The number of infected people continues to grow, and the amount of care needed to help families and elderly with medical and psychological support continues to increase as well.
We have never experienced anything like this ever before. We hope that you can support us with your donation for urgent aid to the people who need our daily help and attention.
Your donation will not end this horrible emergency. But it will help to buy medical equipment for volunteers to deliver medicines to the homebound. It will help families in quarantine. It will supply Kosher food for Pesach for those who can’t purchase it on their own.
Kol Yisrael Araivim Zeh La’Zeh. We are responsible for one another.
At this very difficult moment, we are suffering. As you know, Italy is currently the country most affected in the world by this new virus and right now there are no extra funds in our budget to face the emergency.
But you can help. You can reach out your hand.
You can help. You can reach out your hand. You can take immense pride in knowing that as the rest of the world retreats into itself, you stood tall and saved a life.
It is nice to know that our Brothers and Sisters are with us and here for us now.
Help us to be able to help others.
