Continuing his comprehensive coverage of Jerusalem Day/World Mizrachi YY50 activity, Nachum welcomed Mor Keshet of the Afikim Foundation to this morning’s JM in the AM to highlight the Jerusalem50 – Global Unity Torah. From the Afikim website: “Despite living in scores of different countries and speaking a multitude of languages, what unites all Jews as a people is the Torah. In the same way, Jerusalem has united all Jews as their heart, their soul and their home, so in honor of the 50th anniversary of its 1967 reunification, Jews worldwide can celebrate by buying a letter of a Global Unity Torah, not with money, but rather with an act of kindness/chesed—a deed that will positively impact the lives of others. The Afikim Foundation in cooperation with the Israel Ministry of Diaspora Affairs has commissioned the writing of this unique and historic Torah and invites Jews across the globe to ‘acquire’ its 304,805 letters, share via social media, and reveal hundreds of thousands of ways that goodness can elevate lives and give honor to Jerusalem.”
